We respect your right to privacy. Your privacy is very important to us and we will do our best to protect the security, integrity and confidentiality of your data. We have created this document to inform you of our data collection, use and sharing practices in conjunction with the Website. We will use the data provided by you only in the normal course of our business. We will not share your data with others without your express consent except as necessary to comply with legal process or other applicable legal requirements, to provide the services you have requested, to protect or defend our rights or property or as otherwise permitted by law.

All information collected from this site is used only by Author Rx. The e-newsletter list data is stored via the third-party MailChimp and is managed by Author Rx. Data is not ever sold to a third party or made available for sale. The information collected, such as your email address, is stored in order for Author Rx to communicate directly with you. They may send you emails containing newsletters, promotions, and special offers. If you do not want to receive such email messages, you will be given the option to opt out or change your preferences. The opt-out opportunity is presented at the bottom of every Newsletter you receive. Clicking on that link will remove you from that particular list.

Analytics information

When you enter the Website, Author Rx and its web team may directly collect analytics data, or use third-party analytics tools and services, like Google Analytics, to help measure traffic and usage trends for Author Rx web pages, email newsletters, and promotions. These tools may collect your browser information (type, version, etc.) your IP address, and other non-personally identifiable statistics, unique identifiers and other information that assist in improving your user experience. This information shall be gathered for all Website visitors if we elect to collect it at all and may be used and/or shared by Author Rx in its sole and absolute discretion with advertisers and other third parties. In addition, we may store certain information about you using “cookies.”

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.


What rights you have over your data

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
